Banished Farming Guide: Getting More Seeds and Animals

When you start playing Banished, you’re given a few crop seeds by default. Once you create a field or an orchard, you can see which crops you currently have. Additionally, if you’ve built a Town Hall, you can also track available and producible goods from there.

Note: The Town Hall can be built from the Town Services menu (shortcut: F6).

You can obtain new seeds or livestock through trading. To do this, you’ll need to build a Trading Post. This building allows a merchant’s boat to visit your village once per year. Each boat brings a random selection of materials, seeds, and livestock breeds.

Note: The Trading Post is found in the Storage, Market, and Trade menu (shortcut: F5).

You can trade goods produced in your village—such as crops, stone, wood, or iron—in exchange for new items.
